#1001 "Horse Race"

This wonderful vintage bronze coated gray metal pair from the noted maker, Dodge, features a multi-hued copper-bronze patina that accents the dimension of the pieces. These are circa 1930s with the Dodge mark on the back of each. Dimensions:

#1002 "Craftsman Flower"

Here is a rare pair of signed and numbered Arts & Crafts copper bookends from the famous Craftsman's Studio in Laguna Beach, CA. The pair is marked "Hand Made" inside the anvil logo and numbered 268. They're also marked "Utah Copper." The patina is "absolutely gorgeous." Dimensions:
3-1/2" w x 2-3/4" d x 4-1/2" h

The warmth and coziness of home is projected in this vintage set of solid bronze "Fireplace" bookends. Their wonderful details are attributed to the sculptor R.L. England and are believed to be circa 1930s. Dimensions:

#1010 Lion of Lucerne

Price: $195.00

Extraordinary pair of bronze coated bookends portraying the world-famous Swiss monument to courage: The Lion of Lucerne. The Latin inscription above the dying lion says: "To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss." Mark Twain is reported to have described the original sculpture carved into the sandstone above the city as "The saddest and most moving piece of rock in the world." The bookends have a gold-toned bronze finish over gray metal and are marked MPc 413B. We believe these were made circa 1890 by a foundry later bought by the well-known Jennings Brothers. Dimensions:

The fierce eagle, taken directly from the great Seal of the United States, carries in its beak a ribbon with America's motto, E Pluribus Unum, and in one talon an olive branch, in the other, a bundle of arrows.
