An emblematic example of the Art Deco sensibility displayed in a striking pair of two-tone cast iron bookends attributed to Hubley Manufacturing Co. The tonality here is achieved through the artistic use of surface texture contrasts. Dimensions:

#1024 Butterfly Girl

This extremely rare set of Roaring 20s-style bookends has been called "One of the most elegant bookends ever made" by one expert collector. The design, in bronze-finished gray metal, is reportedly based on the Feb. 7, 1922 Life Magazine cover illustration titled "The Flapper" by Francis X. Leyendecker. This set, circa 1927, is attributed to the X-1 foundry. Dimensions:

The set is electroformed bronze-clad gray metal finished in red and gold polychrome. The Armor Bronze foundry marking is on the back of each piece.
